Since I was young, I’ve had a passion for education and childcare. I’ve been gaining valuable experience throughout the years, and I am ready, willing, and able to provide your children with the care they need. Whether I’m babysitting for a few hours or I become a more consistent presence in your child’s life, I always provide a nurturing, stable, and safe experience.

After graduating from the University of Chichester with a BA (Hons) in Education, I gained experience in primary schools before finding my passion in Early Years. To further my education I studied for a Diploma in the Montessori Method and graduated as a Level 3 Early Years Educator. My experience includes working in a nursery for 3 years and working up to Deputy Manager and Special Educational Needs Co-coordinator. I have also worked for the Local Authority in Children’s Centres, running groups for families and specialising in communication and language. I started Play & Bloom to pursue my passion in early years and to build groups in our community.

I am highly qualified and knowledgeable about the early years. Please see below my qualifications:

  • BA (Hons) Sports Coaching and Physical Education

  • Diploma in the Montessori Method (Level 4)

  • Forest School Leader (Level 3)

  • Early Years Educator (Level 3)

  • Understanding Specific Learning Difficulties (Level 3)

  • Introduction to SignAlong

  • Paediatric First Aid

  • Pan Dorset Safeguarding (Level 3)

  • Member of the DBS update service.

Lauren

Hi!

My name is Lauren, I am 28 and hail from the North West of England, though have lived in Wiltshire/Dorset since 2016.

As a child, I was declared by my family and teachers to be 'the mother hen. As the oldest child in my family, I was found rallying the cousins and orchestrating a magnificent show with many, many acts and elaborate dances that (much to their dismay) my family were invited to endure at EVERY family occasion.

Meanwhile at school, I would organise games for the younger children to play, make sure they had comfort and reassurance and would always help them line up in time for their teachers.

My natural instinct to support, engage with and provide positive experiences for children has been something that has guided my career to this date.

I graduated with a BA in Drama and found my joy in the opportunities to make and create with and for Young Children. This led me to undertake an MA in Theatre for Young Audiences all the while working in a school to enhance my skills and knowledge. I then gained Early Years Teacher Status with PGCE and have worked as a teacher or Nursery Lead since.

I am excited to be working with Play and Bloom, combining my passion for the outdoors with my skills, to create joy for children and families in a more personal way.

My qualifications and experience includes:

  • BA Drama

  • MA Theatre for Young Audiences

  • Early Years Teacher Status with PGCE

  • Deputy Safeguarding Lead Training

  • Thrive Introduction

  • Five to Thrive in Early Years

  • Member of the DBS update Service
